SPOKANE, Wash. -- Snow returned last weekend after a week of record-high temperatures, and the chances for snow may not be done yet this season.Â
The Lilac City reached 31.6" of snow as of March 27th. Spokane hasn't had measurable snow since March 4th, only flurries.Â
That said, there's always a chance in April. Spokane averages 0.6" during the month, but individual years vary wildly. The last two Aprils recorded over 1 inch of snow. Could 2024 make it three in a row?Â
The weather is warming up again heading into this weekend and the first of April on Monday. However, in about a week we'll see the next round of cool air. Temperatures are projected to get close to freezing in the mornings late next week. That will be as good of a chance as you get this time of year for snow.Â
As we continue towards the middle of the month, the odds for snow not only drop historically, but warmth appears to be returning in the forecast. Temperature projections for middle and late April are trending warm, which should reasonably end our snow season.Â
If you're curious, in the month of May there's only been measurable snow in Spokane 11 times since 1893.Â
